Back Injury Compensation made easy

Having a back injury can be a very serious and prolonged problem to live with if you do not seek the right medical attention or professional help. A back injury can be extremely common and can occur in a number of different ways. One of the more serious injuries occur in road accidents and be the result of whiplash.

If not treated properly a back injury can lead to further problems in the future as well as leaving your back vulnerable to injury. As there is already one injury leaving the back weakened, the ongoing condition means that a second injury can be easily sustained and more difficult to treat.

A prolonged back injury can easily leave you out of work for months or even longer, and sometimes requiring the assistance of a carer to help you with the day to day tasks. The financial cost of this together with the cost of adjusting your life to cope with your injuries. Unfortunately, back injuries are becoming more common and can cost the NHS around £8 billion per year alone.

It is therefore essential that you take care of your back and try and prevent injury. If you have experienced problems with your back in the past then it is vital that you take precautions for preventing re-injury and also make sure you do not strain your back.

Depending on the seriousness of your back injury, you can be entitled to compensation to help you with rehabilitation. The amount of compensation can vary according to the seriousness of your injury, for example a back strain or sprain can entitle you to a compensation between £4,000 to £7,500 where as a more serious spinal or muscular problem can entitle you up to £15,000 compensation. The actual amount of compensation depends on the seriousness of the back injury and how long it will take to recover.

To assist your rehabilitation and medical treatment, such as physiotherapy, you can claim compensation as a result of an accident. Increased Risk of Motorbike Accidents in London?

The modern day hustle and bustle of traffic in modern day London means that there are always going to be delays, congestion and people get hot under the collar. There is also the increased risk of accidents from lack of attention, larger vehicles and too many cars on the road. We have seen recently that due to the increased number of accidents of cyclists and motorbikes.

So the answer is to now allow motorbikes, scooters and mopeds into the bus lanes that are shared with Buses, cyclists and taxis. This move is to not only cut down on the number of accidents (by up to 40% in trials) but also reduce the congestion and get the traffic moving again. However, this still does not remove the threat of other collisions between motorbikes and buses, or motorbikes and cyclists. There might be greater challenges for the dominant vehicles in the bus lanes, for example the faster moving motorbikes with the slower moving bicycles. So far thousands of people have signed a petition again the move as this will require new regulations and safety precautions to be put in place.

Accidents of motorbikes colliding with motorbikes is on the increase. Take the example of Simon Powell who suffered head injuries after colliding with another motorbike travelling in the opposite direction. Head injuries resulting from motorbike accidents occur quite often and can be settled with a compensation claim.

With the increase in motorcycles using the bus lanes in London there is the possible risk of more accidents occurring, not only with buses but possibly with other motorbikes and cyclists. The pilot scheme is set to run for 18 months to view the impact on traffic and accident levels.

If you have had an accident from a motorcycle and need to make a head or back injury claim, contact Recover! and get advice on how to get the compensation you deserve.
